Spectre Performance offers a performance air intake system for 2011, 2012, or 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 / 3500 HD pickups and its counterpart the GMC Sierra 2500 / 3500 HD equipped with the 6.0L LQ4 gasoline V8 engine. Spectre Performance air intake system, number 9004, for 2011-2013 Silverado and Sierra HD gasoline V8 models is designed to add horsepower and torque without compromising engine protection from harmful debris. This air intake system uses a high quality polished aluminum air intake tube to direct air into the engine. Spectre Performance air intake system 9004 includes an air filter heat shield, finished in a textured black powdercoat, to help reduce the amount of hot air entering the air filter.
Air filtration and engine protection is provided by Spectre High Performance Racing (HPR) conical air filter, number HPR9891. Spectre Performance HPR air filters are built with a pre-dyed synthetic filter media that will not fade, top quality urethane, and steel mesh. Spectre High Performance racing air filters are pre-oiled and ready to use. A Spectre HPR reusable air filter can be serviced when dirty, using part number 884820, and used again.
The Spectre Performance air intake for 2011, 2012, and 2013 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500 / 3500 HD 6.0L LQ4 V8 gasoline models has been dyno proven to increase horsepower and torque on an otherwise stock 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD 6.0L gas V8. On the dyno, Spectre Performance air intake 9004 showed an impressive estimated gain of 17.11 more horsepower at 5,138 RPM. Perhaps more useful is the estimated gain of 15.81 lb-ft of torque at a commonly used 3,815 RPM. Spectre Performance air intake system, number 9004, was shown to provide extra horsepower and torque across the entire RPM range which will improve power for towing, driving up steep grades or other common situations found in every day driving.
