The Spectre Performance Air Intake for 2007-2012 Nissan Altima models with a 2.5L four-cylinder engine includes a polished aluminum air intake tube, and powder coated heat shield

The Nissan Altima is a fun to drive mid-size car available as a sedan or coupe. The Nissan Altima has been manufactured in the U.S.A since 1992 and in 2011 the Altima became the second bestselling car in the United States. The standard drive train for the fourth generation Altima is the lively 2.5-liter four-cylinder QR25DE DOHC engine coupled to a six-speed manual transmission or the optional continuously variable transmission (CVT).

Now, owners of fourth generation Nissan Altima models who opted for the less expensive, and more fuel efficient 2.5-liter four-cylinder QR25DE engine can also opt for increased performance and more horsepower without breaking the bank by installing a Spectre Performance late model air intake system. The 10233 Spectre Performance air intake system is designed to be a simple-to-install performance add-on.

The Spectre Performance late model air intake system for 2007-2012 Nissan Altima 2.5 models is fitted with a Spectre High Performance Racing (HPR) universal cone air filter 9132 on the end of the polished aluminum air intake tube. The HPR synthetic air filter used in Spectre Performance intakes is designed for high airflow without sacrificing engine protection. A Spectre HPR performance air filter is manufactured using high quality materials throughout, including a pre-dyed synthetic filter media that will not fade, top quality urethane, and steel mesh. Spectre High Performance Racing air filters are pre-oiled and ready to use. A Spectre HPR reusable air filter can be serviced when dirty, using part number 884820, and used again.

The 2007-2012 Nissan Altima 2.5 Spectre Performance late model air intake system features a custom designed heat shield specifically designed for the fourth generation Nissan Altima 2.5. The heat shield shrouds the air filter under the hood, helping to protect air entering the intake from radiant heat coming off the engine. Plus the heat shield used in 10233 incorporates a fresh air scoop adapter to retain the use of the stock fresh air duct. Retaining the stock cold air duct keeps incoming air temperatures within factory specifications.

The Spectre Performance late model intake for 2007-2012 Nissan Altima 2.5 models has been dyno proven to increase horsepower and torque on an otherwise stock 2013 Nissan Altima 2.5L. On the dyno, Spectre air intake 10233 showed an estimated gain of 7.45 more horsepower at 5,028 RPM and 6.56 lb-ft of torque at 3,759 RPM. Extra horsepower for the fun to drive 2007-2012 Nissan Altima 2.5L will result in better performance and faster acceleration.

Owners of 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 Nissan Altima 2.5-liter four-cylinder models can rest assured knowing that Spectre Performance warrants all products to be free from workmanship and material defects with a limited 90 day warranty. Adjustable Spectre Performance Fuel Pressure Regulators Look and Perform Great

Adjustable fuel pressure regulators from Spectre Performance

Adjustable fuel pressure regulators from Spectre Performance feature robust cast construction with a bright plated finish for durability and are easily adjusted using basic hand tools

Spectre Fuel Pressure Regulators include a 3/8” NPT single fuel inlet and dual 3/8” NPT fuel outlets

Spectre Fuel Pressure Regulators include a 3/8” NPT single fuel inlet and dual 3/8” NPT fuel outlets or use the included plug if your application calls for only one fuel outlet

The use of an electric fuel pump, as a replacement for traditional mechanical pumps, has increased in performance street and strip applications. An electric fuel pump has advantages over a mechanical fuel pump even for carbureted applications. An electric fuel pump doesn’t rely on the speed of the engine to move fuel resulting in even, steady, fuel pressure throughout the system. An electric fuel pump has the potential for much higher fuel pressures than a mechanical pump, and this can create drivability issues in carbureted applications if not kept in check by a fuel pressure regulator.

Since 1983 Spectre Performance has designed and offered unique, innovative, parts and components to fuel your car or truck obsession. In addition to the performance air filters, muscle car air intake systems, and late model intake systems that Spectre Performance is best known for; Spectre offers a huge variety of accessories to fuel your passion for performance. One such example is a pair of new fuel pressure regulators designed to keep the right amount of fuel flowing into your carburetor.

Both the 2518 and 2519 adjustable fuel pressure regulators from Spectre Performance feature robust cast construction with a bright plated finish for durability. They include a 3/8” NPT single fuel inlet and dual 3/8” NPT fuel outlets. A plug is included if your application calls for only one fuel outlet to the carburetor. The second fuel outlet can also be used with a fuel pressure gauge. The fuel inlet and outlets can be used with the included hose barb fittings, or with AN fittings purchased separately. Both Spectre Performance fuel pressure regular units include a mounting bracket and screws for ease of installation.

SPE-2519 has a black top and SPE-2518 is completely bright plated

Visually the adjustable Spectre fuel pressure regulators are identical except part number 2519, for 5-9 PSI applications, has a black top and 2518, for 1-4 PSI applications, is completely bright plated

Spectre fuel pressure regulator 2518 is intended for carbureted engines needing between 1 and 4 PSI. This fuel pressure regulator would most commonly be used on smaller import vehicles, or domestic applications with 2-barrel carburetors. Spectre fuel pressure regulator 2519 is suitable for larger domestic vehicles with V8 engines and 4-barrel carburetors. Part number 2519 can be adjusted between 5 and 9 PSI. While these regulators are easily adjusted using basic hand tools it is highly recommended that they are not adjusted without the aid of a fuel pressure gauge. Improper adjustment can result in excess fuel pressure and engine flooding. Spectre Performance offers two styles of Fuel Pressure Gauges, number 2515 or 59013, to make dialing in proper fuel pressure a breeze.

Use of a fuel filter before the Spectre fuel pressure regulator inlet is highly recommended, and Spectre Performance offers a variety of fuel filters to meet varying needs and preferences. Take the proper precautions when working with fuel system components. Make sure to use a suitable thread sealant with PTFE on all threaded fittings for a proper seal. After installation check all fittings and verify that no leaks are present.

Whether your fixation happens to be a classic pickup or muscle car, Spectre will help fuel your passion for performance. Brandy Phillips Drove the Spectre Performance Chevy C-10R from SEMA to the OUSCI

Rob and Brandy Phillips after the 2014 SEMA show

Rob and Brandy Phillips fled the Las Vegas Convention Center after the 2014 SEMA show and headed straight to the LINQ Las Vegas High Roller Event lot along with fellow competitors

The 2014 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show officially came to a close around 4 PM on Friday November 7; however the celebration wasn’t quite over yet. SEMA initiated an official SEMA show after party, creatively named SEMA Ignited, to showcase some of the wildest custom cars and trucks from the 2014 SEMA show. The event was open to the public and free of charge.

The real OUSCI excitement was just getting started for the Phillips' at SEMA Ignited

SEMA Ignited was intended to showcase some of the most wild custom cars and trucks from the 2014 SEMA show but for the Phillips’ the real OUSCI excitement was just getting started

Rob and Brandy Phillips fled the Las Vegas Convention Center and headed straight to the LINQ Las Vegas High Roller Event lot along with dozens of fellow Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational (OUSCI) competitors. While the SEMA ignited event was intended as a way to wind down the 2014 SEMA show, the real excitement was just getting started for the PCH Rods gang.

“The closer Saturday morning came, the more nervous I got,” said Brandy Phillips. Brandy was 1 of only 10 cars selected at the SEMA show to participate in the 2014 OUSCI event hosted by Optima Batteries. “The reality hit that I would be going into this event with very little seat time on a brand new build, and only 8 autocross laps from the previous weekend’s NMCA event,” continued Brandy. The 2014 OUSCI would also be Brandy’s first time to compete in an event she’d hoped to be invited to for the last six years.

The first competitive portion of the two day long Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational would be the Wilwood Disc Brakes Speed Stop Challenge. Competitors were tasked with navigating a portion of the road coarse as quickly as possible and coming to a complete stop in a 40’ stretch designated as the stop box, without going over. Of the Speed Stop Challenge, Brandy commented “I had very little practice in this event and was not familiar with the C-10R enough to push it like I should have.” Not having much confidence with the C-10R’s performance in the Speed Stop Challenge, Brandy was just thankful to get this portion of the OUSCI over with. “I put on quite the show as I successfully did a 180 degree turn right before the stop box coming closer to the concrete wall than I would have preferred,” she said. The crowd cheered and the TV crews were happy for the suspense Brandy’s near contact with the wall incited.

The next section of the OUSCI event was the RideTech Street Challenge Autocross. Optima changed the event format for 2014 by lining competitors next to one another on the starting line for a heads-up run of the mirrored autocross course. The winner of the face-off was not always the fastest due to potential penalties given for knocking over cones, or going off the course. “It was pretty intense staging with another vehicle and gauging where they were on the track to see if you were ahead or not,” said Brandy. Her favorite part of the Street Challenge Autocross was when Brandy found herself staging alongside a fellow female competitor in a red corvette named Jane Thurmond for a little girl on girl action. “There was a lot of smack talking, dirty looks and several laughs after the run; all in good fun and (made for) great TV coverage,” reminisced Brandy.

The BF Goodrich Hot Lap Challenge wrapped up the 2014 Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational on day-two of the event. Competitors were given up to ten laps on the road course at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, with their fastest lap being used for scoring purposes. Initially Brandy was slotted in the advanced drivers group for the Hot Lap challenge, but after a few practice laps she decided it would be best to drop down to the novice group. “I was proud of myself for admitting I needed to go into the novice group. I had a lot more fun in that group and was able to work on my lines rather than worry about getting in the way,” said Brandy. Brandy finished the BF Goodrich Hot Lap Challenge with a respectable lap time of 2 minutes and 10.127 seconds.

When the results were tallied, including points earned during the Detroit Speed Road Rally and the Lingenfelter Performance Design Challenge, Brandy Phillips and her PCH Rods 1972 Chevrolet C-10R earned a solid 68th place finish out of nearly 100 cars. “At first I shook my head and laughed,” said Brandy. “It was better than last!” Brandy, and her husband Rob, were just thrilled to have been able to finish the C-10R just before the 2014 SEMA show, compete in the Optima Ultimate Street Car Challenge, and finish the event without any problems.

“I am thankful for the amazing support I have received during this adventure,” said Brandy. “The crew from Optima Batteries and FM3 were amazing. I had my family with me who all came together to help cover the event, prep the truck, and be there for me mentally. My husband definitely knew what he was doing when building this truck and it showed.” The 2014 Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational marked the first official event for the 1972 Chevrolet C-10R pickup and Brandy Phillips after a three-year break from racing. Spectre Performance is excited to have been a part of the PCH Rods C-10R, and will continue to keep an eye on Brandy Phillips during the 2015 race season.

Blevins Auto Took Spectre Air Filters Equipped 1951 Chevy 3100 to SEMA Show

Chance Blevins created a unique dual performance air filter muscle car air intake system color matched to the truck’s exterior

In conjunction with the Spectre Performance Brand Manager, Chance Blevins created a unique dual performance air filter muscle car air intake system color matched to the SEMA Featured 1951 Chevy 3100 Pickup Truck's exterior

Blevins’ Auto is a family owned business based out of the suburban city of Brooksville, Florida located in the Tampa, Florida metropolitan area. Blevins Auto began as Blevin’s Upholstery some 15 years back by the family patriarch, Lee Blevins. Around six years ago, Lee, along with his son Chance Blevins, ventured into the auto restoration and customization industry. This switch in the business model opened new doors for the Blevins clan as they soon found themselves building top notch vehicles for high-profile customers.

SEMA Featured 1951 Chevy 3100 Pickup Truck spent over 50 years as a farm truck before it came from a New Orleans Saints football coach to Blevins’ Auto in need of extensive restoration work

One such restoration and customization project is the gorgeous 1951 Chevrolet 3100 pickup the Blevins’ built for a coach from the New Orleans Saints football team. The owner originally came to the Blevins’ Auto shop in search of custom auto upholstery work. As the conversation continued the Blevins’ soon found themselves contracted into a complete vehicle restoration project. The New Orleans Saints football coach appreciated the straightforward and honest approach that Blevins’ Auto takes when doing business.

This 1951 Chevy 3100 spent over 50 years as a farm truck before it came to Blevins’ Auto. Luckily the truck was in one piece, although it needed extensive restoration work. Most of the body work is original with the exception of the bed sides. “Even the new reproduction parts take a lot of work to make them fit right and look good,” according to Chance Blevins. While most of the steel body panels might be original, the old iron under the hood was swapped for a modern aluminum block Chevrolet LS-3 engine. Since the LS-3 6.2L Chevy V8 was originally designed for use in a 2008-2013 Chevy Corvette, Chance had to get creative when it came to a muscle car air intake for the 1951 Chevy pickup.

Working in conjunction with Mike Morrow, Spectre Performance Brand Manager, Chance Blevins created a unique dual filter muscle car air intake system color matched to the truck’s exterior. At the heart of this muscle car air intake is part number 98261, Spectre's Over-The-Top LSX Air Intake Plenum. This high quality polished aluminum sheet metal plenum is mated to a Spectre Performance 4 inch outside diameter Y-Pipe air intake tubes, number 97997. The two-into-one Y-pipe allowed Chance Blevins to run two Spectre clamp-on high performance air filters HPR9616B. The pre-died blue synthetic air filter media perfectly complements the truck’s paint.

Around six years ago, Lee Blevins (left), along with his son Chance Blevins (right), ventured away from the upholstery business and into the full restoration and customization industry

It’s products like these unique, and innovative muscle car air intake systems from Spectre Performance that allows custom vehicle builders like Blevins’ Auto to add a distinctive touch to each build. Of the custom muscle car air intake, Chance Blevins reported “We used this Spectre Performance setup because we were limited on space. It looks really good and it’s functional.”

Other personalized touches to the 1951 Chevy 3100 pickup include an amazing interior covered in Peanut Butter Leather with bits of Ostrich leather on the door panels, headliner, and seats. Hand painted and light airbrushed touches compliment the exterior of the truck; as does the all-new wooden bed, and side rails. Chance Blevins painted the wood panels the same blue as the truck and then proceeded to sand down to the wood. This left just a hint of blue color embedded in the natural wood grain, which he then covered with many layers of clear coat paint.

The truck gets its amazing stance from the Fatman Chassis down below and is equipped with full Air Ride Technologies suspension. 2.5” stainless steel exhaust and ProXS mufflers from Borla exit just in front of the rear wheels for good looks and great sound. Speaking of great sound, a Pioneer touch screen and MTX speakers provide the driver with top quality sound inside the cab. After all, what’s an old farm truck without some tunes?

Brandy Phillips and the Spectre Performance Chevy C10 R Receive Optima Invitation

Rob and Brandy Phillips of PCH Rods

It was a long road to the 2014 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Vegas, Nevada for Rob and Brandy Phillips of PCH Rods but their hard work has paid off

It was a long road to the 2014 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Vegas, Nevada, for Rob and Brandy Phillips of PCH Rods. The couple has spent the last two years building the 1972 Chevy C10 pickup named the C-10R and it has finally made its debut at the 2014 SEMA show.

PCH Rods C-10R had a lot of positive feedback at the SEMA show

Because PCH Rods C-10R was built to win races, not shows, the amount of positive feedback the truck has received at the SEMA show has taken Rob and Brandy Phillips by surprise

Previously Rob had built a 1969 Chevy C10 truck as a show vehicle, but the 1972 C-10R was designed for go more than it was for show. Rob and Brandy chose function over form when developing the C-10R as a Pro Touring competition specific vehicle.

Because PCH Rods C-10R was built to win races, not shows, the amount of positive feedback the truck has received at the SEMA show has taken Rob and Brandy by surprise. “During set up we rolled the truck into the Spectre Performance booth and industry individuals flocked toward the C-10R,” said Brandy Phillips. “We have been really impressed with the number of high-end custom builders who have paused to look at the truck.”

Brandy Phillips was also extremely surprised when the PCH Rods 1972 Chevy C-10R received the prestigious Good Guys Gold Award Participant. While walking around the Las Vegas Convention Center it was obvious that this award was given only to high caliber vehicles.

However, Rob and Brandy’s ultimate goal for the 2014 SEMA show was to be invited to the Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitation which will be held at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Brandy Phillips has been trying to get invited to this event since its inception in 2008. “It’s a really big honor just to be considered for OUSCI,” said Brandy. Only 20 qualified vehicles were considered, 10 of which were to be chosen

The two-day long event will begin on Saturday November 8th following the conclusion of the 2014 SEMA show. Spectre Performance would like to wish Brandy and Rob Phillips the best of luck this weekend as Brandy finally realizes her dream that has been six- years in the making.
